Go, See, Do: The Getty Villa
The Villa is a showcase for ancient Greek and Roman art with many many sculptures that were just unbelievable. To think that these things are 2000 years old and many were exposed to the elements and still preserved is pretty amazing. And then there is the architecture! Much of the villa is a reproduction of an actual villa in
Herculaneum, Italy with views of the ocean that are breathtaking to say the least.Admission is free but you do have to make reservations and pay to park which is $15 per car. Up to three children under age 15 are allowed per car with the ticket reservation. Overall one of the least expensive things to do in L.A. besides laze around at the beach. We did not see any celebrities but at every nice car we passed I pointed out to my husband and said "Hey, that guy looks famous!"
Have any of you been the the Getty Villa? What did you think?
A look back at Fall 2009 RTW
Hello Lovelies!
With the coming of Autumn I thought it would be fun to look back at some of the Fall 2009 RTW shows for a little inspiration. These are just a few of my favorite images, full shows and reviews can be viewed at Style.com

From Anne Valerie Hash:
What do you gals think of these shows? Which trends are you in love with? I just adore the ruffles and the ladylike details of course. I am doing a lot of gray, navy and taupe this fall with the hopes that I will be able to mix and match several pieces.
Have a fabulous day!

A girl after my own heart

Hello ladies!
You simply *have* to check out this fabulous new blog I came across and promptly fell in love with a few days ago. The Neo-Traditionalist is a blog with so many lovely things in one place! I read the first post and had to go back to the beginning of the blog so I didn't miss anything.
This post, for example, has some pictures of Jenna Lyon's office which are great. It just makes me like her more to see her inspiration wall there with pictures and flowers haphazardly tacked all over the place. This is obviously a real office where a real woman works ;) By the way Jenna, can I just have that Jaime bag you have lying on the floor over there under what looks like a stack of unloved bags? I can see its friendly little tassels waving to me! Pretty Please?
Enjoy Ladies, I know you will!

New Favorite Jeans?
So today I had a chance to go to Gap and do some trying on of their new "Premium" denim line. I have to say that I'm actually really impressed!
The fabric is soft, super comfy and the fit is pretty great. I was looking at the "Always Skinny" fit or the "Real Straight" ones mostly and I especially loved the Skinny jeans! The saturated dark wash was great and versatile, I'm taking these ones home the next time a promotion comes around. The Straight fit was nice too, I just didn't like the wash selection as much.
In the past I have had fit issues with Gap jeans where they have always "gaped" (haha) in the waist if they fit in the hip region. The new 1969 jeans do not have that problem, hooray! Like I said, the fabric is very comfortable, really a lot like the premium denim I do own and I think just as nice. I do wonder if they will hold their shape (another past issue with Gap jeans). The photos online do not do the "Always Skinny" fit justice - they are very flattering and not an ultra low rise as they appear online. I would say the rise is probably 8.5, they seemed to hit me the same as my Joe's Honey fit jeans.
